Can I ship wine as a gift?
Yes, you can!
Two Steps
- Follow these instructions to get a quote and place the order.
- To supply the actual Recipient’s local phone number and email address. FedEx or the Customs agency will likely contact the Recipient for confirmations before a delivery is made.
No Unwanted Surprises
Because it is going into another country and wine as alcohol product is highly regulated, the typical “Surprise Gift” idea does not work well. The Recipient needs to know beforehand wine is coming their way. Just imagine receiving an unknown package from another country or getting a call from FedEx or Customs agency for confirmation. That is not a “happy surprise.”
We have observed many cases, especially during the holidays, that “surprise gifts” have been refused by the Recipients for the above reasons. Additionally, for corporate gifting, gift may be refused due to company policy. Please find out that recipient is OK to receive gift.
Please also be aware that in some destination countries, recipient must pay duties & taxes to clear customs and receive wine gift as prepayment is not allowed by regulation and law.
It is costly to retrieve these gifts or destroy them at the Customs.
